Our story

Tasmania has so many quaint little towns filled with amazing small businesses producing and retailing fine Tasmanian products and produce. Westbury is where we chose to call home and start our journey in creating Little Marney’s Gifts for Town & Country.

Little Marney’s was a dream that Olivia had early on after working within retail and advertising for many years. In her spare time she loved to create rustic art out of old materials including the nasty Barbed wire which people fell in love with so it was time to do something for herself, so why not in the middle of Covid set yourself a challenge.

When presented with an opportunity to renovate a dilapidated old set of stables in late 2020 she couldn’t resist the challenge. The vision was very clear from day one - it was to create a cute little country gift store catering to the local community with an inviting garden feel. A place to showcase (all in one place) as much Tasmanian product as possible - searching out amazingly talented Tasmanian artisans and craftspeople.

Olivia wanted her customers to feel valued and welcome the moment they got out of the car. A place to get inspiration for their home and garden. She also wanted to create a shopping experience where people felt welcome and left wanting to come back again.

This didn’t come easy if you had seen what the stables looked like you would have said, “no way” but with grit, determination, and a lot of help from friends and family Olivia repurposed the stables and within six weeks opened Little Marney’s gifts for town & country on the 15th December 2020.

Little Marney’s has quickly become a sought after destination in Westbury so much so that within a few months Olivia needed to expand the off street parking. We often hear when people come into the store that they have to do a few laps to take it all in as we have so many beautiful and different giftware ideas ranging from Men’s, Ladies, Baby, Outdoor Garden, Sculptures catering for the unique landscape design.

The one thing Olivia loves is that Little Marney’s is a hidden gem. We pride ourselves on good old fashioned service, giving the customers a wonderful experience. It's the little things that matter.

We believe small businesses play a major role within Tasmania as it brings community together, supporting each other and supporting local

Meet Milo

Milo is our best mate. He is a chocolate & white border collie but now that he is in his prime years he is starting to turn a sandy colour. If he's not having his best time on the farm with his mates he occasionally hangs out with mum at Little Marney’s. Any opportunity to play ball he is there wagging his tail with a big smile.
